Cadillac has released new images of the upcoming electric version of its best-selling model.

The Escalade IQ is entirely different from the internal combustion engine-powered SUV that is currently on sale.

It is designed around the same Ultium electric vehicle platform as the GMC Hummer EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup and will be built alongside them at General Motors’ Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center in Michigan.

The wheels are also similar to the Celestiq’s and a peek through the sunroof suggests that the Escalade IQ also shares the car’s full-width digital dashboard screen.

The graphic on the display announces the date when the Escalade IQ will debut, which will be on Aug. 9 at noon at an event in New York City.

Toyota has announced that the classic Land Cruiser name is returning to its U.S. lineup on an all-new model.

The automaker last offered a Land Cruiser in the U.S. in 2021.

The news comes in the form of a social media post with a video cycling through several of the Land Cruiser badges that have been used since the 1950s.

It is built on the same truck platform as the Toyota Sequoia and recently unveiled 2024 Lexus GX, and is sized between the current Toyota 4Runner and the Sequoia.

Positioned as a serious, but premium off-roader, the Land Cruiser is so popular that Toyota announced last year it was sold out into 2026.

The last Land Cruiser offered in the U.S. was only available in high-end trims starting at $86,740.

Added weight affects the energy efficiency of any vehicle, regardless of the type of engine or motor powering it. But with battery charging times still much longer than filling up a tank with gas, it can have an outside effect on an electric vehicle’s utility.

Even Ford CEO Jim Farley has said many customers who need to tow and haul long distances are better off with a gasoline or diesel-powered truck, and the company plans to continue offering them for years to come.

The Northeast division of AAA has now highlighted the issue, testing a Ford F-150 Lightning carrying a heavy load in the bed.

“AAA’s testing revealed a significant range reduction, but it’s important to note that the Lightning was loaded to near its maximum capacity,” said Diana Gugliotta, director of public affairs at AAA Northeast. “Most buyers will likely use their Lightning with a lighter load, resulting in a much smaller range reduction.”

“Just like gas-powered vehicles, the heavier the load or pull, the more energy needed to move it,” a Ford spokesman told Fox News Digital in response to the report.

“There are many factors that affect range when towing and hauling, including the size and weight of the load or trailer, the weather, HVAC use, driver habits and route topography. The F-150 Lightning also offers a technology called Intelligent Range as part of Ford’s onboard navigation, which automatically considers these factors and suggests charging stops along a route to provide a more accurate range estimate at any given time.”

The organization also noted that electric vehicle range is better in stop-and-go urban driving, which is how many commercial trucks are used, thanks to the effect of regenerative braking that charges the battery as the vehicle slows down.

A very rare 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda muscle car is being auctioned at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas event, and no one will miss it crossing the auction block.

The restored coupe is one of just 255 ‘Cudas that are known to have been painted “Moulin Rouge” pink that year, out of nearly 50,000 cars.

It is the most uncommon color, according to the ‘Cuda and Challenger E-Bodies fan forum, based on a review of 90% of shipping records that it has collected.

Given the rarity of the color, along with it being combined with a black vinyl roof, the value of the car is tough to pin down.

According to Hagerty, similar ‘Cudas with this powertrain in the best condition are worth around $128,000, but this one is not perfect.

It also ran a quarter-mile in 8.25 seconds and a half-mile in 12.82 seconds, the latter of which about as quick as it would cover the distance in a free fall.

The Nevera had previously claimed the title of world’s fastest electric car last year at a certified 258 mph.

Aside from the photo and name, additional details have not been released, but the vehicle appears to be a Lexus version of the recently introduced Toyota Grand Highlander.

The discontinued midsize RX-L had seating for seven, but the third row was very small and only suitable for children and other short passengers, which means the TX will be the roomiest Lexus crossover utility vehicle ever.

The Grand Highlander is available with several powertrains, including a four-cylinder-based Hybrid Max rated at 362 hp that allows it to accelerate to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds and tow 5,000 pounds.

A new study found that the truck is more likely to remain in service for 250,000 miles than any other vehicle.

The iSeeCars.com online marketplace looked at 260 million vehicle sales from 2012 to 2022 to determine which models had the highest chances of reaching the quarter-million-mile mark, based on the mileages listed at the time of their sales.

The F-350 Super Duty received a score of 49.1%, which is more than four times the average of 11.8% for all vehicles.

Over the past 30 years we’ve watched an increasing number of cars reach 200,000-plus miles, and for our 10th Longest-Lasting Cars Study we’ve expanded our analysis to predict which vehicles have the greatest likelihood of reaching 250,000 miles or more.”

The Toyota Sequoia, which recently topped iSeeCars.com’s list of vehicles with the longest potential lifespan at 296,509 miles, was third at 47.1% and followed by the Ford F-250 Super Duty at 43.6%.

The celebrity classic car restorer has a collection of about 450 project vehicles he has purchased over the years, but not enough time to get to them all, so he is putting half of them up for auction on Saturday, April 29 in Texas.

Collins owns the Collins Bros. Jeep store in Wylie, Texas, and also hosts YouTube’s “Coffee Walk” show, which features him hunting for old cars.

The cars and trucks he is selling are in various states of disrepair.

Few are in running condition and the lot they are in looks more like a junkyard than a dealership, but there are plenty of diamonds in the rough for an ambitious mechanic to sink their wrench into for a restoration or custom build.

“They were desirable cars when we bought them,” Collins told Fox News Digital.

They range from highly sought-after 1960s Chevrolet Impalas to Ford Mustangs and Pontiac Trans Ams from the 1970s.

One of the more complete cars is a 1968 Dodge Charger that has already received bids over $14,000 online ahead of the on-site auction, but the car that is arguably in the best condition is also the oldest.

The 1908 Buick Model 10 was the brand’s best-seller that year, and the car ran the last time Collins tried to start it up. Its body is still in fine shape thanks to a restoration it underwent before he bought it.

It is a 1948 Dodge Route Van that’s been converted into an armored vehicle. Collins purchased it from another restoration shop in Mt. Vernon, Texas, a few years ago, and he says it is the only one like it that he has ever seen.

It has multiple locks on every door, a single seat in the cargo area for a guard and several gun ports with bulletproof glass windows to use for fending off crooks.

What it does not have are any markings indicating who built it, or what it was used for, and its ownership history has been lost over the years.

“Whatever they were hauling was very expensive,” Collins said.

It is not the only vehicle being offered that has a connection to law-breakers.

In 2007, Collins and fellow builder Richard Rawlings claimed a transcontinental Cannonball Run record by driving a Ferrari 550 with an oversize gas tank from New York to Redondo Beach, California, in 31 hours and 59 minutes. They did not get any tickets, but broke a lot of speed limits and the previous record set in 1979 by nearly an hour.

Soon after they went public with their record, they got a call. “I know where the 1979 record car is,” the caller said.

The 1978 Jaguar XKS was driven by David Yarborough and David Heinz. Heinz owned a Jaguar dealership in Florida at the time and modified the car with a large marine fuel tank in the trunk, radar detectors and a CB radio for the illicit event.

After it returned to the Sunshine State, the car was returned to its original condition and sold as used with dashboard plaques commemorating its feat.

Today, it is worn and a little rusty, but in good shape for a restoration.

“This was the first Cannonball Run winner that was sold by its driver, they usually keep them,” Collins said.

Hennessey already offers a 6×6 version of the standard F-150 Raptor that has a 450-horsepower turbocharged V-6 and applies a similar treatment to the Raptor R.

The engine remains the same, but Hennessey stretches the bed from 5½ feet to eight feet to accommodate a third axle and a suspension featuring the Raptor R’s special Fox Live Valve shock absorbers, which modulate their damping force depending on how the truck is being driven off-road.

The shocks allow the F-150 Raptor R to take bumps at high speeds and even jump without bottoming out while also providing plenty of articulation for climbing over rocks and a controlled ride on pavement.

Hennessey lists the VelociRaptoR 6×6 for $499,999, but that does include the price of the F-150 Raptor R it’s built on and a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty on Hennessey’s work.
